However, I&#8217;ll discuss those treats separately, for now I chose this picture but it shows very clearly what jelly ears can look like when very big! However, they look quite different when young:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sustainablelife.spiderstudio.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/1385284_10151963950241774_1962426532_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-104\" alt=\"1385284_10151963950241774_1962426532_n\" src=\"http:\/\/sustainablelife.spiderstudio.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/1385284_10151963950241774_1962426532_n.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Identification<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Cup shaped when young resembling an ear<\/li>\n<li>Rubbery\/gelatinous texture<\/li>\n<li>red brown colouring<\/li>\n<li>Inner surface smooth and shiny, scurfy outer surface matte<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Beware Of<\/h1>\n<p>Some of the cup fungi are inedible, distinguished by their brittle flesh (as opposed to gelatinous) and they grow on soil. If it&#8217;s not a tree, leave it be!
